The 12th annual Christmas Cantata just couldn’t have been more perfect – right down to the snow that began falling on Dec. 9th as the audience began to arrive for the final performance.

This year’s Cantata was dedicated to two special ladies – Ellie Hohn and Carol LaFreniere. Ellie was a strong supporter of the Cantata for many years and Carol had sung with the choir in the past.
The Cantata was directed by Kathy Speck. Soloists, small groups and musicians performed for the first half of the program, with the Cantata Choir presenting “Silent Night, Holy Night” during the second half.

Newcomers this year included the Lighthouse School Singers, who not only performed themselves but enthusiastically led the crowd in an impromptu clapping to the music during the finale when the choir was singing the lively spiritual “Jesus, What a Wonderful Child!”
It was a heartwarming ending to a wonderful afternoon of seasonal music.
