Help fill a stocking for a soldier

National Honor Society Members at BICS

NHS Members Olivia, Erin and Marissa are collecting items for Operation American Soldier.

By Elaine West –

The National Honor Society at Beaver Island Community School is once again collecting donations to fill Christmas stockings for our men and women in the armed forces. Items should be brought to the school by Nov. 16.

A wish list of items includes: coffee, tea and powder drink mix, hard candy, fun little holiday decorating items, playing cards and small games, snack-pack pudding, tuna (in envelopes), and beef jerky.  Items that cannot be shipped include any liquids that contain alcohol, no tobacco or pork products.

If you would like to make a donation for items to be purchased for the stockings, make out the check to “Operation American Soldier,” and give to NHS advisor Connie Boyle or one of the NHS members: Marissa, Olivia and Erin.

If you have the name and address of a soldier and would like a stocking sent to them, please give it to Boyle or an NHS member and they will pass it on to Operation American Soldier.
