On Saturday, Nov. 9, Beaver Island Community Players will take to the Community Center stage for “Just a Little Crazy,” – a very funny comedy about family, the differences between the sexes, and the institution of marriage. The cast includes Chad Helmer, Joan Banville, Laura Green, Jenna Wilk, Jeff Powers and Elaine West.
Jacque LaFreniere and John Fiegen are co-directors for the show, which marks the 20th anniversary of the beginning of Beaver Island Community Players.
Over the years the Island community has enjoyed a variety of Community Player productions, ranging from a musical (“Nunsense”) to variety shows (the “Beaver Tales” series) to who-done-its (“Just Desserts”), comedies (“A Bad Year for Tomatoes”) and family favorites (“A Christmas Carol”).
Community Players founder, Jacque LaFreniere, recalls the 20 years of shows in an article appearing in the November issue of NorthernIslander – “Thanks for the Memories: 20 years of Beaver Island Community Players.”
Tickets for “Just a Little Crazy” are now on sale at the Community Center ($15) and the show begins at 8:00 p.m. on Nov. 9.
