There were balloons, cake and punch, surprises and a lot of applause during a night of celebration for the Nov. 9 20th anniversary of the Beaver Island Community Players. Prior to the evening’s show “Just a Little Crazy,” Judy Lanier and Eric Hodgson took to the stage to honor two leaders of the Beaver Island Community Players organization.
Jacque LaFreniere founded the group and has been a director and the driving force behind the two decades of plays and musicals produced on the Island. Jon Fiegen is her right hand man, directing and performing throughout the years. The two received engraved “stars” which thanked them for their contributions of time and talent to the Community Players and to the Island community.
The show itself was very well received by the audience, who gave the cast and directors (LaFreniere and Fiegen) a standing ovation. Starring in “Just a Little Crazy,” were Laura Green, Chad Helmer, Jenna Wilk, Joan Banville, Jeff Powers and Elaine West.
