Beaver Island’s 4th of July

July 3 is the traditional 4th of July Golf Tournament at the Beaver Island Golf Course. (Call 448-2301 for more information).

July 4 Parade on Beaver Island

A star spangled sail boat in the parade.

The 4th of July parade will start at 2:00 p.m. The theme this year is “The Faces of American Freedom.” All floats and parade units should be in place along Kings Hwy., between 1:00 and 1:30 p.m.

Youngsters are invited to support the Fairy Garden in  the Health Center’s Wellness Garden and participate in the parade. Dress up as elves, gnomes, butterflies, flowers, frogs – any inhabitants of the  magical  garden – and walk (or ride bikes) together in a special parade entry. If you’d like to join the group, call Leonor Jacobson at 448-2894.

Following the parade, a Kids Carnival sponsored by the Beaver Island Christian Church will be held at their parking lot and  grounds.

At dusk, fireworks will begin on the harbor – thanks to the work of our Island Fire Dept. members and through financing by both Island townships.
