The snowfall on Thanksgiving weekend put everyone in a festive, holiday mood. The weeks ahead have a number of wonderful events for the whole family to enjoy during this special season of joy!

The 12th annual Christmas Cantata, directed by Kathy Speck, will be performed on Sat. and Sun., Dec. 8 and 9, 2:00 p.m., at the Beaver Island Christian Church.

The Cookie Carnival will be held at the Gregg Fellowship Center on Dec. 13, from noon to 4 p.m.

The AMVETS Ladies Auxiliary will hold their Lunch with Santa party on Sat., Dec. 15, from 11:30 to 1:00 p.m. at the Gregg Fellowship Center. They will also hold their annual Santa’s Workshop at the school on Dec. 20, with plenty of time for the little ones to do their shopping for Christmas and have their gifts wrapped for under the tree.

Community members are invited to join the elementary students and staff and parents for Christmas Caroling on Dec. 18, starting at 3:30 p.m. Call Deb Robert for more information

To remind us all of the “reason for the season,” the Lighthouse Fellowship Church is sponsoring a live nativity scene on Christmas Eve, 5:00 p.m., at Matt and Wendy Fogg’s home on the harbor. There will also be hot chocolate and other refreshments to enjoy. Additional parking is available at McDonough’s Market.

NorthernIslander will cover all of these wonderful events. Keep watching our website and the photos and articles to come in the Jan. issue of NorthernIslander.
